About WRAPA
Building Africa's modern insurance backbone
We exist to make insurance and HMO health cover accessible, transparent, and fast for every individual, family, and business in Nigeria, Kenya, and across the Pan-African market.
Making insurance and health coverage accessible to every African
WRAPA exists to remove the barriers between people and the financial protection they deserve. We do this by building the technology that connects insurers, brokers, HMOs, and customers on a single, transparent platform so that buying a policy or enrolling on an HMO plan is as simple as sending a message.
We partner with traditional insurers and HMOs in Nigeria, Kenya, and across the wider Pan-African market to digitise their workflows, automate decisions, and serve customers faster, fairer, and with full transparency.
The insurance backbone of Africa
We envision a continent where every individual, business, and enterprise can access the right insurance product at the right price powered by algorithms, driven by data, and delivered with empathy.
By 2030, WRAPA aims to be the infrastructure layer that insurers, HMOs, brokers, and regulators across Nigeria, Kenya, and the wider Pan-African market rely on to serve their customers and manage their operations.
How HMO plans work
WRAPA lists insurance policies and HMO plans. An HMO plan is a membership. You join a network of hospitals and clinics and use it for outpatient visits, admission, maternity, and everyday care. Personal plans, family cover, and company schemes are available in Nigeria, Kenya, and across Africa.
You enrol first
With an insurance policy, payment usually comes after a claim. With an HMO, you enrol and then use the hospitals and clinics on that plan. Many visits cost little or nothing at the desk. Individuals, families, and employers can compare plans and enrol members on WRAPA.
You can see the hospitals
Each plan shows the facilities you can use. In Nigeria, schemes follow the National Health Insurance Authority. In Kenya and East Africa, they include Social Health Authority networks and hospitals on the Kenya Master Health Facility List.
Approvals and hospital payments
If a procedure needs approval, the request, the decision, and the payment to the hospital all stay on WRAPA. The member, the HMO, and the hospital see the same update, in Nigeria, Kenya, and across Africa.
What we stand for
These are the principles that guide every product, partnership, and decision at WRAPA.
Customer-First
Every product decision starts with the customer. We build for the person on the other end not the institution.
Radical Transparency
Insurance has long been opaque. WRAPA surfaces the terms, the exclusions, the scores so customers can choose with eyes wide open.
Technology-Driven
We believe the best insurance experiences are built on great software algorithms that match, APIs that scale, and UX that does not get in the way.
Pan-African Ambition
Nigeria and Kenya are home, and the Pan-African market is where we are headed. We design for multiple currencies, regulators, and languages from day one.
Trust & Security
We handle sensitive financial and health data. We take that responsibility seriously with bank-grade security, PASETO-based auth, and rigorous audits.
Speed to Resolution
Whether it is a claim, a policy change, or a customer query we obsess over time-to-resolution. Every hour saved matters.
The people behind WRAPA
A team of operators, engineers, and insurance practitioners who have lived the problem they are solving.
